Evergreens can be both deciduous and evergreen, so its also important to consider whether you would prefer the plant to flower all year round or if you’re okay with it being bare at points in the year. They are also evergree and hardy, making them ideal for the UK climate.
Star Jasmine flowers from May until the end of August, producing simple, pure white, 5-petalled, intensely fragrant flowers. It will flower in full sun, partial shade, or total shade, and requires well-drained soil, moderate water, moderate fertilizer, and a climbing structure. Its evergreen, hardy nature makes it another great candidate for British gardens.
If flowers arent your thing, and privacy is all you seek, Ivy is the perfect option.
