Product Description
Has the largest leaves of any temperate bamboo – glossy green in colour, they layer up to form thick hedges.

The size of Long Leaf Bamboo’s blades is in stark contrast to its short and spindly stems. These clumps of dainty canes are what creates this plant’s dense layers of greenery – as they are pulled forwards by the weight of their massive leaves. Originally from China, it copes well with the British climate and is popular as a ground cover, privacy screen, patio ornament or as an accessory to a pond or water feature.

Bamboo is one of the world’s fastest growing plant-types. Traditionally from Asia, its hardiness means it can actually be grown very easily in Britain – visitors to your garden will be surprised and impressed to see it there. As a forest plant, it appreciates a steady supply of moisture and compost. And as an enthusiastic grower, you should give Bamboo room to expand, we suggest placing infant plants about 100cm apart.
