Product Description
One of the most elegant and distinctive types of bamboo. Its black canes can reach incredible heights.

As you can see in some of the photos here on GardenPlantsOnline, Black Bamboo’s tall, slim canes are often ‘scorched’ with highlights of golden-brown. New shoots begin with the same bright green as the plant’s leaves, they eventually turn jet black after two years. This mix of contrasting colours creates a very bold and striking plant – undoubtedly this is what makes it the most desirable bamboo plant we sell.

Bamboo is one of the world’s fastest growing plant-types. Traditionally from Asia, its hardiness means it can actually be grown very easily in Britain – visitors to your garden will be surprised and impressed to see it there. As a forest plant, it appreciates a steady supply of moisture and compost. And as an enthusiastic grower, you should give Bamboo room to expand, we suggest placing infant plants about 100cm apart.
