Draw your garden. We'll plan every plant.

Pick a style, trace the shape of your plot and mark what's staying. You'll get a planting plan drawn to your exact garden, with every plant positioned and a shopping list of everything in stock.

1. Choose a style

This sets the plant palette, the path, and how the borders are laid out.

Photos show the style of each garden for inspiration. Your plan is designed for your own plot.

2. Draw your garden

Start from the closest shape, then drag the corners and sides until it matches your plot. Add anything that's staying and we'll plant around it.

3. A few details

These decide which plants go where, what size we send, and what it costs.

How much sun does the garden get?
Which way does it face? Standing at the back door, looking out

Used to add a north arrow to your plan. South and west-facing gardens get the most sun.

Soil won't rule any plants out. We'll add the right compost, improver or grit to your list so your style works whatever you're starting with.

How established should it look?

The layout is the same whichever you choose. What changes is the size of plants we supply.

Rough budget for plants and materials

We'll always design the look you chose. If it comes in over budget, we'll show you ways to bring it down.

4. Choose your plan

Every tier is generated from the garden you drew.

Measuring your garden

How your plan is generated

  1. Zones from your shape. Border depth is worked out from how wide your garden is. Screening goes along the boundary furthest from the house, and a path runs from your patio or back door to a focal tree.
  2. Every plant placed at its mature spread. Shrubs go in first, then perennials in drifts with the tallest at the back, then edging and ground cover in the gaps. Nothing is planted over your shed, patio, pond or path.
  3. Only what's in stock. Plants are chosen from the style's palette, filtered by your sun, and swapped for an alternative when something is out of stock.
  4. A shopping list that matches the plan. Plant counts come straight from the drawing, and turf, gravel, mulch and soil are calculated from the measured areas.
